Re: Modelling divs a year ahead

I interpreted the OP's remark, -"Wow what happened to my original question", as a light-hearted, flippant - "Wow look how much the topic has evolved", rather than a ... "my question hasn't been answered".

Yes, thank you VM for a very comprehensive, informative and useful post. It way surpasses TMF articles.

Re: VOD

I really don't understand the point which seems to be constantly made about so-called contradictory articles by TMF.

One of the articles was authored by Rupert Hargeaves, the other by Mark Holder. I am sure TMF don't first ask each of

A little bit of proof reading goes a long way

As there is now no opportunity to point out errors & omissions in TMF articles nowadays, it makes the need for proof-reading even more important.

Indeed it shouldn't be too difficult in view of how brief and lightweight the articles [more]

Re: VOD

One doesn't have to wait for the following week to see contradictory MF articles. They are often in the same week or even the very next day.

This one about VOD, was posted on 8th July, 2 days previously, in the same week:

JC, Thank you for the further information/assessment of SMDS. That's very useful.

Re: DS Smith results

Not IMHO on those figures: an 8p dividend on a share price of 282p is a yield of 2.8% - one to watch in case the price drops markedly further, maybe, but too far below market average yield to count as 'high'.

BUT those

Gengulphus, thank you for your assessment.

The SP is now down significantly from 6 months ago, currently at 282p. Dividend up 20% to 8p. Could this be an entry point?

Re: personal assets quarterly

What occurs to me with the likes of PNL, is that IF they hold, for example, 20% in TIPS because they believe that the portfolio needs protection from inflation, then surely they are only protecting 20% of the portfolio. It doesn't protect the whole [more]
