Re: What to do with a Tesco?

At the risk of being on the wrong board to discuss my contribution to this thread any further, I agree that with cash ISA there is no potential for the capital to increase but conversely (ignoring inflation) no capital loss.
Interest is [more]

Gardening tip

I invited my neighbours around for a BBQ in my garden.

After they'd drunk some beers and were rather tipsy, I mentioned to the husband that his wife had been sleeping with other men.

She hadn't, but I wanted the rockery moved.

ps - I forget to add that if he sells there may be CGT to pay (subject to any relief). Also, any gain should be adjusted for inflation otherwise it's just illusionary.

And the key point is that Miner's income (and in presume, capital) has increased year by year

Only if he sells, or could borrow on the security. Otherwise it's on paper gain only, with no certainty that when he does want to cash in [more]

Re: General Election - perspectives

With the GN, past form, age, weight, jockey, trainer, name of horse are factors to consider.

With names to protect the innocent, here's my take on just a few of our local council candidates:

1. Angela - might be in her 50s but looks [more]

General Election - perspectives

2 - In our area, there is (unlike 5 years ago when the hoardings were prolific) a noticeable [more]

Re: Never wrong to take a profit?

I bought 10,000 shares in Thomas Cook at 18p and sold for 24p.
They're now £1.476 bid.

Also, I bought 900 CBRE Inc at circa £2.50 but had to sell to be able to afford to top up Mrs BnC's unpaid national insurance [more]

Frothy

Paddy goes to the vet with his goldfish. "I think it's got epilepsy" he tells the vet.
Vet takes a look and says "It seems calm enough to me".
Paddy says, "I haven't taken it out of the bowl yet".

Re: Lightroom with HDR

Thanks.

Someone on Adobe's LR board tells me they've "done up to 9 raw images on Lightroom CC and it works fine. Not sure whats the limit though."

As I understand, the feature is a workaround HDR. LR merges the images and [more]

The question is silly because it presupposes the CEO will stay in her job for long enough to check whether you'd achieved your aspiration.

Re: What to do with a Tesco?

It currently yields 3.83%

Seems like a lot of effort for such a return (presumably before tax, and/or variable)

I get 2.15% tax-free from a cash ISA, fixed rate since 2013 until 2017, no effort on my part and daily [more]

Re: Driving into a garage

Hang from the door itself?

Not feasible. The inside face of the door is flush when in the closed position and in folding (moving) sections during opening. The ball could get caught up in the sections and/or motor pulleys, etc.

I use MacKeeper v1.9 and use it to clean up user cache, user logs, and languages, but i don't touch binaries or system stuff.
When I asked MK how safe it would be to use the binaries clean up, I wasn't assured it's that okay.
