Hi Arb,

No I don't use those metrics on core holdings unless they happen to fall within the parameters (still waiting for that to happen). I use it more for my "explore" part of the "Core and Explore" portfolio. Although [more]

Re: Which one?

Hi Dod,
I only use the metrics to give me an idea of Investment Trusts that I may have missed. I.e. Those ITs that have fallen out of favour for whatever reason or ITs that are placed in a different category to where you would expect them. An [more]

Re: Which one?

Hi Tagliatelle,
When I first started out in investing in Investment Trusts I had 2 metrics that I used to determine whether I should buy or not. They were firstly, the IT had to be trading at a discount to NAV of 15% or more and secondly, the [more]

Re: Doris Here!!

Hello penym,

If I was in your position I would divide the nISA money into 3 equal amounts. I have no problem with Luniversal's B7 or B8 portfolios, which give a good, well established dividend history. However, if you are already invested in [more]

Credibility, on the shareholders side and a rather large decrease in the price of the senior employees "share options". :-)

We had Terry Leahy, who like Alex Ferguson could do no wrong (sorry, but it is saturday) but had the good sense to get out at the top of their game. The successor, Philip Clarke (David [more]

Re: Sainsburys Brand Match

Anyone know or care to speculate?

Well, having received over £10 in "brand match" vouchers in the last 3 weeks I'm guessing that the cheaper store may be Tesco. I haven't confirmed this in person, just a thought.

Re: How Tesco can recover

I think one of Tesco's perceived problems are to do with pricing. There are far too many confusing and time consuming offers to work out which is the best deal. It is very seldom that we go shopping for more than one of a certain item. If they were [more]

The "Doomsters" don't seem to get out much. My impression of the UK economy gleaned from driving from one end of the country to the other fairly frequently are that "the UK economy is motoring". Car transporter after car transporter full of Jags, Land Rovers, Nissans, Toyotas, all made in the UK. A year ago there were hardly any. Mm, GKN?
