Re: Amlin Dividend

The welcome dividend from Amlin (AML) will be added to my monthly dollop of cash that I add to my HYP(ISA), and on this occasion be used to buy some more AstraZeneca (AZN). I've no doubt that I'll be buying more to my Amlin holdings in the future, [more]

Hello Peter,

Views or comments welcome.

A very interesting post, and more evidence that a HYP of directly held shares works. That is what this board is about.

I do not hold TTs, but some here do.

Re: My May 2015 HYP(ISA) Purchase

Thanks for your feedback guys,

S32 will sit in my account, too soon to call it a proper HYP share for a new pick but as they spun from HYP miner BHP Biliton they're HYP members to me by dint of heritage. I'd not worry about going above 23 [more]

Good morning all,

I return to this thread to update you all on my current investing planning for the next few months.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, it is my intention to buy the 'second half' of my AstraZeneca (AZN) [more]

Re: HYP 24th Purchase RIO vs PFC

Disregarding the two you're talking about here, how about a tobacco share?

Diageo

I too would like to pick them, but they're not a HYP share option IMHO.

From digitallook;

Re: How do you deal with held dividends?

It is a red flag I grant you, but to me Strategic Ignorance applies, although I'd probably not buy more on that news, and sit tight on any current holdings of that stock.

Re: My May 2015 HYP(ISA) Purchase

kempiejon,

PSN - not a proper HYP pick, it's history of increasing dividends being somewhat nil. Taylor Wimpey and it's special might just bring it into line so it's forecast to be high yield.

Re: My May 2015 HYP(ISA) Purchase

Monny9,

Ian, would you consider a house builder? PSN or TW. both have good well covered forecast yields and negative gearing. PSN would be my choice.

Having just read the reports on their website, I'm tempted to go for them [more]

Fair point bouleversee, and as it's a known known, I've bought the stock with my eyes wide open. The more important metric from my HYP perspective, is to buy a high yield. Sainsbury offer me [more]

Re: WH Smith or Sainsbury's?

Hi bouleversee,

From a HYP perspective, which is what we're concerned about on this board, it'd have to be Sainsbury (SBRY) every time against WH Smith (SMWH), with it's lowly 2.7% yield. You might get more feedback over on those respective [more]

That would be my choice in your situation Ian. Also Interserve (Support Services) might be worth considering.

Thanks for that Chris. I always look out for your input.
