Re: P/E still high

Similar to the last time I raised this issue, I'd be interested to hear of peoples particular HYP portfolio experiences with the above phenomenon.

For me strategic ignorance applies, and I just keep on building my HYP.

Re: Your present HYP 1st choice

Hi NorwichFool,

My first choice would be Shell (RDSB). Your OP is quite timely for me actually, as I mull next month's top up. Having said Shell, I'm fully weighted with that share, and am considering buying some more BP (BP.) to bring it [more]

Crikey - there's not much chance for Doris, then.

Re: A change of mind (again) :-)

Never mind, Ian. Carillion have just landed a £200 million contract to rebuild eight schools in the Midlands so unless they have underquoted or cock it up, there should be a boost to their profits in due course. Down a bit today so could be a [more]

It's not enough, though, is it ? We need to know why you think its a good outfit, preferably with reference to things like yield, cover, debt, future expectations, etc.

Whatever happened to DYOR?

I shall be delighted if Sainsbury does well as I also hold but I'm not too optimistic. Good luck with your choices anyway.

Thank you bouleversee.

Dod,

Keep your hands in your pockets and top up what you have. There is no rush to expand the numbers of shares held.

Thank you for your wise words,

Thank you micos,

That was the kind of response I thought I'd get.

There's Strategic Ignorance (SI), and then there's just plain old ignorance (I) :-) I'm not keen on mutual funds, so why invest in one of the firms peddling them? [more]

Re: A change of mind (again) :-)

Greetings,

I return to this thread to do a bit more Pickering about. I'm toying with shelving the idea of adding Aberdeen Asset Management (ADN) and going for Pearson (PSON) instead. That'd be a smoother ride methinks.

Hi C,

Can I suggest Sainsbury (SBRY), Vodafone (VOD) and Carillion (CLLN) as potential additions.

disc: I hold the first two, and am buying CLLN on next Thursday.

Cheers,

Ian.
