Re: Nearing completion

Very good input but I would ignore CLLN (which I hold)

That level of yield now looks distinctly risky

Why is he still Lord Archer having been to prison?

Re: Where are all the bees?

The scarcity of bees seems to be a worldwide phenomenon and has been in the news recently.

IIRC the four main factors were:

Various Diseases
Lack of Bee Food (growing urbanisation)
Weather (drought in US; wet in [more]

Re: Chat on Vodafone board

I would prefer they take the money and invest it in the business.

I wouldn't have a problem with that, as long as it is invested well.

I would remain open minded about the options of a Special and/or Buybacks.

I am inclined to agree to you.

Glad I'm not the only one.

Boulversee

LOL you're not!

But would you rather have a windfall of $3 billion or a windfall of $120 billion?

Arb,

I bought it because, on purchase, it had a high yield 4.6%, good cover, lowish debt and a P/E of 5.9

I committed heresy and forgave a cut in the dividend record!

I do see a Commercial Property company as a valuable [more]

I read the tea leaves and come to the same conclusion as 77ss.

The odd thing in all of this is the sudden and unexpected volte face from Verizon

Julian,

It will be interesting to see what action VOD take.

I would favour a Special, but should we expect a Special/Buyback combo?

Re: Possible bid for SVT

I'm holding SVT in my SIPP so CGT is not an issue.
It's at about average weight and I was disciplined enough not to be overweight in Utilities as a sector.

You make good points about the possible Exit yield and finding a [more]

Mr Market is getting excited - SP up £3.35 in early trading.

Sometime ago I made some money on the Thames Water takeover and felt elated.

Now, I am inclined to agree with Luniversal and see this as a bit of a pain.

I have never owned BT (apart from a very short while as a Stag after the IPO).

I would find it difficult to buy the share due to BT's consistently appalling and inept Customer Service.

Perhaps I've just been unlucky?

Hoheria Sexstylosa - looking very sad

It has dropped a lot of leaves, but still has some green [more]

Re: W-8BEN - Where to send???
