Re: First comp

It would seem to me that a pair of 14 handicappers are far more likely to benefit from the choice of 2 drives as scratch golfers will more regularly both knock their drives down the middle and so less often obtain an advantage because one of them [more]

Re: Winter/Spring off-piste training

I've got a strange putter. It's an Odyssey Backstryke which they brought out a few years ago, sold virtually none and it quickly gained gimmick status. But I swear by them and have two just in case, both cut down to 32 inches and with the big fatso [more]

Re: Winter/Spring off-piste training

I use a 32 inch putter with a fatso grip. All off-the-shelf 34 inch putters feel miles too long for me so I saw a couple of inches off. I am 5 foot 8.

Hogan's five lessons is very dense. I got bits outs of it but it's really Hogan talking to [more]

Re: Poll: Left Heel

In the past it has been one of my key swing thoughts to keep it down in order to stay over the ball and aid compression, something necessary when one has an overly quick transition and so struggles to get back left in time. Now it is so ingrained as [more]

Re: Hogan - the backswing

There are two schools of thought regarding the golf swing and these are evidenced by different players currently playing right at the top of the game.

One school says to turn the right hip back as deep as possible to get behind the ball. [more]

Phones, staff, dealers etc

Ignoring the website issues for a minute, why has the telephone service gone through the floor ? Is it just the high volume of calls due to teething problems or something more fundamental ?

Naively I had assumed that all the old telephone [more]

Amazon or eBay ?

Hi All,

The same brand new item is available for sale by the same company seller at the same price (incl postage) on both the UK Amazon and eBay sites. Is there any advantage to buying via one or the other ? I'm wondering about the dispute [more]

Re: Handicap moan

I'm not sure why you feel the need to take it further. They made a right botch of it, have implicitly acknowledged this to be the case and have given you a handicap you regard as fair. Stuff like this happens all the time at different clubs and in [more]

Re: Tour Cheats

Perhaps you saw the recent LPGA tour event in Canada where one of the leaders consistently used "creative marking" to avoid spike marks and straighten lines. When she was questioned at the end of the round she objected so strongly that she [more]

Re: Handicap moan

That is ridiculous. Tell them they have ruined your enjoyment of club golf by requiring you to enter seventy or more competitions to get seventy point one's back in order to get to a reasonable handicap of 20 say !! That's 2 or 3 years of golf where [more]

Thanks again guys.

The comment about weight in the right rear pocket and turning more is a key issue and when warm and supple I can do this and easily hit the ball the extra 10 yards I crave. But if I want very consistent contact and [more]

Thanks guys,
