I don't know about watchlists, sorry. The "save" icon has moved over in the portfolio pages if that helps.

Re: Back to the stone age!

It may get better if they fix glitches in the post rollout period. With a new website that they've written themselves, there should be the know how to take it forward. Certainly some of the long-standing gripes have been addressed now. First day of [more]

Re: Reminder - no access to accounts from 5pm

Doh!

The "save" generates a file with the extension .xls but is actually a tab separated text file. So excel can probably work out what to do with it but changing the file extension to .tsv will make things much easier. Its another [more]

Does your employer offer a top up scheme or a way you can buy extra pension? This might be on a different basis to your career average scheme (i.e money purchase) but depending on the offer they can be good value. Any sipp you buy will be on a money [more]

Re: 4 core cable for heating valve control.

Thanks everyone. That was quite informative. I'm quite surprised because it can't be a rare issue.

It looks like the original colour scheme is not realistically available in a retail format. I'll go with the 10A multi-core cable for heating [more]

Re: 4 core cable for heating valve control.

A sunvic valve but I've seen the colours mentioned in Honeywell documentation too. Good point about joining the cable; I was assuming there were going to be terminals on the valve which could be unscrewed.

Which there aren't; the cable would [more]

Re: 4 core cable for heating valve control.

Just checked at the junction box; definitely four and no earth!

The b&q cables are for a time controller and the colour scheme is different to the valve wiring cable.

Re: 4 core cable for heating valve control.

I'd rather use the right colour code so it makes sense to me (or anyone else) later.

The B&Q link went to something roughly right but its for wiring up a controller so it's in the wrong colours. I have learned that cable has a 4digit + [more]

4 core cable for heating valve control.

I'd like to reroute the cable which controls a three way valve. It requires white, gray, orange and blue cores. The valve is only 2-3 years old so its not an archaic pattern. I've googled but can't seem to find cable in this colour combination. [more]

Re: A noisy and old central heating pump.

Just done it. I realised the pump dimensions were the same as the old and the isolation valves seemed in reasonable condition.

The pump has a nifty plug so you can wire it in a convenient position.

The old pump was full of black [more]

Re: Central Heating and Frost

I believe that frost setting opens the valve enough so that the radiator receives enough hot water to stop it freezing. However this will only have some effect if the boiler is heating the water in the heating circuit.

Re: Inherited pension - further BCE?

Realistically if you were thinking about an Immediate needs annuity you should probably be thinking about Inheritance tax too. The purchase of an annuity reduces the value of the estate.

This is quite a way off topic.
