Re: Uber + Self-Driving Cars = Fewer Cars

"Cars basically last X number of miles"

I don't agree that mileage alone defines the economic lifespan of a car. Indeed service schedules have time criteria as well as distance. So we can't say that more intensive use of a car will [more]

Re: Prime property low yield BTL investment

Not doing it at all is always an option. If the market is placing a very low value on your intended use of capital then I think its a signal that there's too much capital being supplied. Its a fairly crude view but efficient deployment of capital is [more]

Re: Prime property low yield BTL investment

If you had a portfolio it might make sense to have some exposure there I guess.

I'm not sure that you can assume that because yields are low, management inputs will be low. people handing over a lot of money in rent may have higher [more]

Greencoat UK Wind sells shares to refinance.

Basically bought assets on bank finance but wants to shift the liability to the shares (which makes sense given the time horizons).

The point of more general interest is a suggestion that finance wise shareholders are cheaper than the bank [more]

Another option is a local auction house; the buyers look it over and buy as is. If there's no interest you have to take it back.

Long trips are dependant on your personality too. The perspective you have while working; that long trips offer unlimited freedom is somewhat warped by the restrictions of working. Once out there it's quite different.

Its a trade off between [more]

Also that the taxation of shares granted to employee's is covered by special rules (and it can be quite onerous); but I believe there is a concession with ISA's which allows you to put them in. Don't know it in depth though.

Its worth checking the service charge accounts to see if big renovations are expected. Your somewhat in the passenger seat on these (which can work both ways). Otherwise your question is "what will the neighbours be like?" . At some point [more]
