Intermittent contact during insertion can cause quite a bit of damage to filament bulbs
I wouldn't have thought inserting into a bayonet socket would have been any worse than the 'switch bounce' you get from a wall switch.

Bit mixed weather-wise, but by no means a washout!
Managed to miss a lot of bands I had penciled in , partly because the walk between stages was a bit quaggy -
Great atmosphere, and I didn't see any disappointing bands - and the Otter beer [more]
